四無量心

(四無量心, 四无量心)

(sa) catvāri apramāṇāni; the four immeasurables, or infinite Buddha-states of mind, also styled [lang id =1028]四等 the four equalities, or universals, and [lang id =1028]四梵行 noble acts or characteristics; i. e. four of the twelve [lang id =1028]禪 (sa) dhyānas: [lang id =1028]慈無量心 boundless kindness, (sa) maitrī, or bestowing of joy or happiness; [lang id =1028]悲無量心 boundless pity, (sa) karuṇā, to save from suffering; [lang id =1028]喜無量心 boundless joy, (sa) muditā, on seeing others rescued from suffering; [lang id =1028]捨無量心 limitless indifference, (sa) upekṣā, i. e. rising above these emotions, or giving up all things, e. g. distinctions of friend and enemy, love and hate, etc. The esoteric sect has a special definition of its own, connecting each of the four with [lang id =1028]普賢; [lang id =1028]虛 [lang id =1028]空 [lang id =1028]藏; [lang id =1028]觀自在; or [lang id =1028]盧 [lang id =1028]空 [lang id =1028]庫.

這是四種廣大的利他心願， 即是慈、 悲、 喜、 舍： 一、 慈心無量， 慈者愛念， 即能予樂之心， 菩薩愛念一切眾生， 常求樂事， 隨彼所求而饒益之， 名慈無量心。 二、 悲無量心： 悲名愍傷， 即能拔苦之心， 菩薩愍念一切眾生受種種苦， 常懷悲心， 拯救濟拔， 令其得脫， 名悲無量心。 三、 喜無量心： 菩薩慶他眾生離苦得樂， 其心悅豫， 欣慶無量， 名喜無量心。 四、 舍無量心： 菩薩於所緣眾生無愛憎心， 名之為舍。 拋開一切怨親差別之相， 無量平等利益眾生， 名舍無量心。

﹝出法界次第﹞ 四無量心者， 慈悲喜捨也。 通名無量者， 謂菩薩利他之心廣大也。 所緣眾生既無量， 而能緣之心亦無量也。 （菩薩， 梵語具云菩提薩埵， 華言覺有情。 ） 〔一、 慈無量心〕， 慈名愛念， 即與樂之心也。 謂菩薩愛念一切眾生， 常求樂事， 隨彼所求而饒益之， 故名慈無量心。 〔二、 悲無量心〕， 悲名愍傷， 即拔苦之心也。 謂菩薩愍念一切眾生受種種苦， 常懷悲心， 拯救濟拔， 令其得脫， 故名悲無量心。 〔三、 喜無量心〕， 謂菩薩慶他眾生離苦得樂， 其心悅豫， 欣慶無量， 故名喜無量心。 〔四、 捨無量心〕， 謂菩薩於所緣眾生， 無憎愛心， 名之為捨； 復念一切眾生， 同得無憎、 無愛、 無瞋、 無恨、 無怨、 無惱， 故名捨無量心。

慈無量心、 悲無量心、 喜無量心、 捨無量心。 與一切眾生樂， 名慈無量心； 拔一切眾生苦， 名悲無量心； 見人行善或離苦得樂， 深生歡喜， 名喜無量心； 如上三心， 捨之而不執著， 或怨親平等， 不起愛憎， 名捨無量心。 因此四心普緣無量眾生， 引生無量之福， 故名無量心。 又此四心若依禪定而修， 則生色界梵天， 故又名四梵行。
